Caught up with a friend and we decided that we wanted Japanese food for dinner so we tried out this restaurant! We were very impressed with the four pages just dedicated to special rolls and enjoyed our food while talking.
Food:
- Fire Dragon Special Roll--$15.50
This roll was packed with shrimp tempura, spicy tuna and kanikama inside. The shrimp tempura was plump and the tempura batter was soft. Topped with tuna, hamachi, ebi, avocado, tobiko, and green onions, I loved the texture contrast between the pop of the tobiko, tender fish, creamy avocado, and fluffy rice. The drizzle of unagi and house sauces added a sweet and salty element.

Some of the best sushi in the area. Everything I ordered was fantastic & tasted fresh. The spicy salad with salmon is awesome. Jalapeno Poppers are a nice fusion surprise.
Everything I ordered was great. Now that Fahrenheit is closed, this is the best sushi in Menlo Park. If you want to drive, Fuki is better... -

This is a pretty solid Japanese restaurant! They have a good selection of sushi rolls to choose from. I came here on Saturday with my bf and we ordered a lot of rolls. I forgot what most of the rolls are called but they were all pretty good and they didn't skimp on the fish (some sushi places skimp on the fish so that there's way more rice than fish). There's some nigiri sets too so I may try those the next time I'm here. Service was fast too since the sushi came out in less than 15 minutes!

This is a good neighborhood Japanese restaurant. It's fairly Americanized with the extensive menu of rolls but they have nigiri sushi combos too.
I would recommend the sushi deluxe nigiri sushi combo: 8 pieces of nigiri sushi + 6 pieces of california roll for $22.50.
Their rolls are standard with all kinds of toppings and sauces. Fish quality is pretty decent, not amazing but yummy. I will say that the roll we ordered with tempura in it wasn't as good due to the soggy tempura. The softshell crab in the 2nice roll was nice and crispy though so go figure. Rolls seemed to be in $12-18 category. It's comparable to other places up here in the Bay Area.
Overall, would come back again as it's super close to home and I enjoyed our meal here. It's not the best sushi I've ever had but it's ok and convenient. -

I had such a great experience at this sushi place. It's kind of inconspicuous but the service was exceptional. We ordered several sushi rolls for the table to share. Personally, I had the chirashi and the sashimi was cut generously. I will definitely be going back.
